Safeguarding

Children, young people and anyone who may be vulnerable must be safe at everything we run: classes, events, festivals and support.

What we do

• Children under 18 at our activities stay in the care of a parent, guardian or a named responsible adult.
• Volunteers who work with children or people in need of support agree to this policy and our Code of conduct.
• No one works alone and out of sight with a child or a vulnerable person.
• We treat what people tell us in confidence privately, unless someone is at risk of harm.

Raising a concern

In an emergency, call 111. For any other concern about someone’s safety, tell the Social coordinator or any committee member, or email contact@tefaremaohinui.nz. We take every concern seriously and act on it.
