Privacy

Te Fare Mā'ohi Nui i Aotearoa Manatōpū (“we”) collects only the personal information we need to run the association. We follow the Privacy Act 2020. This page explains what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it and how to ask for it.

What we collect

  • When you join: your name, email, phone (optional), region, whether you are 18 or over, your membership type, an optional note about your connection, the pillar you are interested in, and your agreement to become a member with the date and time. For members under 18, the name and email of a parent or guardian. For family memberships, the name of each person in the household, whether they are 18 or over, and an email for each adult. For businesses and organisations, the name, NZBN if given, and the representative’s name and email.
  • Payments: the amount, your reference code, the date we matched your bank transfer and who matched it. We do not collect card or bank account numbers.
  • Support requests: your first name, how to contact you, your preferred language, the kind of help you need and anything you choose to tell us. We never ask for medical details, your date of birth or your address.
  • Emails we send you: a record of which email was sent and when.

We don’t collect ethnicity, date of birth, address or ID numbers.

Why we collect it

To process your membership as our Constitution requires (payment and committee approval), keep the register of members, send you payment details, reminders, receipts and renewal notices, respond to support requests and enquiries, and run events.

Who sees it

Committee members with an admin role see membership applications and the register. Support requests are seen only by the Social coordinator and named committee members, and our system blocks everyone else. We publish committee and coordinator names, and no other member details.

We don’t sell or share your information. We use these services to run the site, and they hold it on our behalf:

  • Supabase, our database, hosted in Sydney, Australia.
  • Netlify, which hosts this website.
  • Resend, which sends our emails.
  • Google Workspace, for our contact@tefaremaohinui.nz mailbox.
